Good vibe and well organized in beautiful surroundings
We had a fantastic day sailing from Kendwa Beach to Mnemba Island. The whole experience had such a really good vibe, relaxed but still very well organized. The snorkeling was beautiful, the sailing was a real pleasure, and the freshly prepared lunch on board was a lovely culinary highlight. Most of all, the crew made the day special: knowledgeable, welcoming and genuinely nice people who clearly enjoy what they do. Great family day!
A fantastic family day with Dream Dhow! First, we really appreciate the what’s app messaging beforehand to confirm and set up a meeting time and spot. Captain Mani was friendly and fun to chat with, Suleman cooked a delicious Swahili lunch, and Elijah expertly steered the spacious, comfortable dhow. Our kids (7 and 11) loved the two-hour outbound journey, especially sitting up front getting splashed by the waves! Instead of the crowded touristy sandbar or chasing dolphins around with the other speed boats, we swam in a quieter spot with stunning, shallow turquoise water that was shallow enough for the kids to stand. With the snorkel we saw coral, sea urchins, and star fish. Of note, the crew was especially kind to check my daughter’s foot after she stepped on a rock and they reassured her she was good to keep swimming! At a second spot, we enjoyed fantastic snorkeling with loads of fish. Mani guided us using a secured life ring and rope to keep everyone together, making the kids feel safe and confident. It was a great set up. The slow sail back was magical —lounging on the deck with fresh fruit, snacks, and drinks, surrounded by beautiful turquoise water and a gentle breeze. Without the engine running and just the wind in our sail, it was a special time just being together. A perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Amazing day trip - highly recommend!
We had an absolutely fantastic full-day trip with Dream Dhow Zanzibar, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Zanzibar! From the very beginning, everything was so easy to organise. Communication via WhatsApp was excellent, with quick, helpful responses that made the whole booking process really straightforward and stress-free. A huge part of what made the day so special was our guide, Yusufu. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely passionate about what he does. What really stood out to us was how much he cared about the animals, marine life and the environment. He had such respect for nature and was keen to share his knowledge with us. Something we particularly appreciated was that we visited beautiful areas that weren’t overcrowded with other boats or tourists. It made the experience feel much more peaceful, natural and special. We also felt this was a far more respectful way to enjoy the marine environment, without adding to the crowds or putting unnecessary pressure on the wildlife. It was clear that Yusufu genuinely cared about getting this balance right, which made us appreciate the experience even more. The dhow itself was wonderful, with so much space on board to spread out, relax and enjoy the experience. We never felt cramped or crowded, and having plenty of room to sit back, take in the views and enjoy the gentle sailing made the whole day feel incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The food on board was another real highlight! We enjoyed a fantastic full lunch, freshly prepared and cooked right there on the boat. Everything was delicious and full of flavour. We were then treated to afternoon snacks, followed by fresh fruit later in the day. We certainly didn’t go hungry, and the quality of the food was far better than we ever expected from a boat trip! The whole day was beautifully relaxed, with stunning turquoise waters, wonderful scenery and plenty of time to soak it all in. And what a way to end the day! As we sailed back towards Kendwa Beach, we were treated to the most spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean. Watching the sun slowly sink towards the horizon, with the sky glowing in beautiful shades of orange and gold, was absolutely magical. Sitting back on the spacious dhow, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and watching the sunset was the perfect ending to a truly memorable day. Yusufu really made the experience for us. His knowledge, enthusiasm and genuine care for both his guests and the environment made such a difference. We particularly valued his respectful approach to the marine life and his efforts to make the trip feel special without following the crowds. A special mention also to our driver, Hassan, who was part of making the whole experience so enjoyable. It was lovely to have such a great team looking after us. We couldn’t recommend Dream Dhow Zanzibar highly enough. From the excellent communication and wonderful hospitality to the spacious dhow, delicious freshly cooked food, uncrowded locations and breathtaking sunset, everything was fantastic. If you’re thinking of booking, don’t hesitate! We would highly recommend Dream Dhow Zanzibar, and definitely ask for Yusufu – he’s an absolute credit to the team!

We had a fantastic day upon Dream Dhow. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Hemed and his crew made us extremely welcome and he was the best host. Relaxed, caring, helpful, respect for nature
Super communication via WhatsApp, everything clearly explained. Had a wonderful day. No overcrowded boat. The food was great, freshly prepared on the boat. Unfortunately the engine failed and we couldn't visit 1 reef, but despite that it was a super nice experience. No dolphin hunting, neatly turned off the engine to quietly spot dolphins from a respectful distance, we saw dolphins but they were hunted by other motorboats and tourists who jumped into the water to swim with them, worthless!! The dolphins swam away rightly, and unfortunately we could only admire them briefly. This guide also clearly stated not to touch the starfish, great!! Dream dhow! Everything was also done in consultation with our group and time was taken everywhere. The guide kept a close watch on the group while snorkeling! We did 2 other tours: sunset Dhow: worthless with 60 men in a boat, the blue safari Zanzibar preceded by a cold BBQ This was absolutely worth the money! Friendly and helpful crew We enjoyed
