Dream Dhow is more than just a family business – it’s a story of passion, adventure, and love for the sea. Founded by Julia and Yusuf, who made Zanzibar their home in 2019, Dream Dhow was born from a dream to share the island’s beauty and ocean to the people who visit the island.
The ocean has always been at the heart of our lives. Yusuf, an experienced diver with years beneath the waves, and Julia, a devoted nature lover and hobby diver, wanted to create experiences that go far beyond an ordinary boat trip. In September 2020, our very first dhow set sail – and since that day, countless magical journeys have been created for travelers from all over the world.
What makes Dream Dhow unique is not only our beautifully handcrafted, traditional dhows, but also the feeling you get the moment you step on board. With captains who know the sea like an old friend, and guides who carrty Zanzibar’s stories in their hearts, every journey becomes an unforgettable adventure. From vibrant coral reefs to breathtaking sunsets, we invite you to discover Zanzibar the way it was meant to be experienced – close to nature, with authenticity, and with a personal touch.

For the past five years, she has carried our guests across the sea, creating unforgettable moments and lasting memories. With space for up to 8 guests, she’s ideal for intimate private trips. From romantic honeymoons to special birthday celebrations or just a peaceful escape for two.
Our second dhow — Slightly larger and designed for comfort, our second dhow offers more space. Perfect for bigger groups and celebrations.
Built in 2023, she can comfortably accommodate up to 15 guests, making her an ideal choice for birthdays, gatherings, or a fun day at sea with friends and family.
Our newest Dhow – Built in 2025, she combines modern design with traditional charm.
Featuring an upper deck for the ultimate in comfort and luxury, she’s perfect for sunbathing, ocean dips, or simply watching the sunset in style.
With space for up to 20 guests, she’s ideal for shared boat trips, large private groups, or unforgettable celebrations like from birthday parties to bachelorette gatherings.
